Movies in the Park returns Saturday, first in over two years

Salemites this summer can watch movies on a 24-foot screen from a seat in the grass at Riverfront Park.
Movies in the Park returns for the first time since 2019 due to the pandemic, starting this Saturday with Free Guys.
The city of Salem announced four shows are slated for the summer series at the The Gerry Frank | Salem Rotary Amphitheater, all of them starting at dusk:
-Free Guys on Saturday, July 16 around 9 p.m.
-Love, Simon on Saturday, July 30 around 8:30 p.m.
-Mitchells v. The Machines on Saturday, Aug. 6 around 8:30 p.m.
-Encanto on Saturday, Aug. 13 around 8 p.m.
The amphitheater is at the south end of Riverfront Park, 200 Water St. N.E.
Those who attend should arrive early and bring blankets, low back chairs and snacks. There will be parking available at the carousel lot and the park’s north end, according to flyer posted on the city of Salem’s Facebook page.
