Fringe and sequins for the ladies; bowler hats and pocket watches for the men were in style at the Salem Convention Center on April 30. The Liberty House chose a 1920s theme for the event.
In a unique take on fundraising, our local child abuse assessment center held not just a raffle but a mega raffle. Ticket holders were given a one in 11 chance to win 185 prizes and attend in person or online.
The event’s lead sponsors were Oregon Oncology Specialists, Rich Duncan Construction, Tomson Burnham, and Batteries+Bulbs.
Both Executive Director Alison Kelley and Board Chair Eva Corbin gave short and lively presentations on a 360-degree stage. A giant gold drum filled with tickets sat in the center. A livestream of the drawing began at 6:30 p.m. so dinner guests and those at home could see if they were a winner.
The evening concluded with dancing and celebration, especially by those who took home one of the fantastic raffle items.

Liberty House is a child abuse assessment center serving Marion and Polk counties. The nonprofit offers a safe, comfortable, child-friendly environment for children and their families facing concerns of abuse, neglect, trauma, or grief. The center provides medical assessments and forensic interviews for children with concerns of abuse and neglect.
