Data digest: Covid by the numbers for Oct. 11, 2021

Salem Reporter is keeping you informed of the latest Covid numbers. Here’s our report for Monday, Oct. 11. 

Monday case and death totals also include numbers reported Saturday and Sunday and are typically higher than other weekdays.

New Covid cases reported in Marion County: 277

New Covid cases reported in Polk County: 37

Total Salem Hospital patients with Covid: 71 as of Monday morning, an increase of two from Sunday. Of those, 14 are in the intensive care unit, and eight are on ventilators. 

Fifty-nine of those in the hospital are not vaccinated against Covid.

Total Salem Hospital bed occupancy: 488 of 494 licensed beds in use

Total people hospitalized with Covid in Region 2 (Marion, Polk, Yamhill, Linn, Benton, Lincoln counties): 114, a decrease of one from Sunday. Of those, 24 are in the intensive care unit and nine are on ventilators.

Total Region 2 hospital bed occupancy: 71 of 80 staffed ICU beds and 546 of 563 non-ICU beds in use. 

New Covid deaths reported: 20

New Covid vaccines in Oregon: 2,218 new vaccine doses on Oct. 10, including 398 first doses, 302 second doses and 1,506 third doses.
