Businesses, nonprofits can apply for grant funding to reduce waste

Marion County businesses, nonprofits and governmental entities can apply for up to $10,000 in grant funding for projects that reduce waste.

Marion County EarthWISE has $100,000 in funding for projects that reuse infrastructure, recycle, compost or focus on outreach to educate about managing waste.

Applicants must apply by Oct. 22 at 3 p.m. The grant application is available online.

Priority areas include reducing food waste, sustainable packaging and programs that target multi-tenant commercial and residential areas.
