Salem police seek public’s help locating suspect in June 8 homicide

Salem police have identified a suspect in a June 8 homicide and are asking for the public’s help in tracking him down. 

Antonio Julian Soto, 32, has been identified as the suspect in the death of Davontae DeShawn Smith, the department said in a press release. 

On June 8, patrol officers responded to a call of shots fired at the Capital Inn on Fisher Road Northeast in Salem and found Smith deceased.

A warrant has been issued for Soto who is described as being 6-feet tall with black hair, hazel eyes and is approximately 245 pounds. According to police, he has been known to wear glasses. He is considered armed and dangerous. 

According to law enforcement, he may be in Washington.
