Ballots are heading your way in an election that is generating unusual heat.

The races for the Salem-Keizer School Board seats pits two slates of candidates against each other.

Election Day is May 18, and ballots need to be returned to a dropbox or arrive in the mail by 8 p.m. that date. Voters who live in the district can vote in all four races.

Intense debates over school reopening, police in schools and racial equity have put more focus on the Salem-Keizer School Board over the past year.
