No school for Salem-Keizer students Tuesday; grab-and-go meals suspended
Salem students stuck in the dark don’t need to worry about finding a power outlet Tuesday.
Because of widespread power outages across the city, the Salem-Keizer School district is canceling all online classes and in-person activities at local schools for Feb. 15.
The district expects to resume classes Wednesday, according to a tweet.
More than 69,000 Marion County households and 2,000 Polk County households remain without power.
Grab-and-go breakfast and lunch won’t be served Tuesday or Wednesday, district spokeswoman Sylvia McDaniel said.
McDaniel didn’t immediately have a report on which schools are without power or whether the storm damaged any school buildings.
