The 2019-20 Salem-Keizer School Board (Rachel Alexander/Salem Reporter)
Salem-Keizer school board members will fill two vacancies on the district’s budget committee at their meeting Tuesday night, picking from among 15 people who have applied for the volunteer role.
Committee members serve three year terms and review the superintendent’s proposed budget with school board members before the school board votes on the budget in May.
The board will also vote on appointing board director Satya Chandragiri, who represents south Salem, to serve on the Oregon School Boards Association legislative policy committee.
They will consider proclamations for Native American Heritage Month, Education Support Professionals Day and Parents in Education Month.
They will read, but not yet vote on, a change to Superintendent Christy Perry’s contract reflecting legislative changes to retirement benefits for public employees approved in the spring.
Board members will hear updates on school construction projects, planning for spending Student Success Act money
Meeting details: 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 11 at the district’s Support Services Center, 2575 Commercial St. S.E.
Board members: Kathy Goss, Sheronne Blasi, Marty Heyen, Jesse Lippold, Paul Kyllo, Satya Chandragiri and Danielle Bethell.
