Two men have been arrested and charged in the deaths of two others after a fatal shooting in northeast Salem Monday night.
Keonte Caldwell, 23, and Curtis Welch, 26, were found and arrested in the Roseburg area sometime after the shooting, which occurred around 10:15 p.m. Monday, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Both men are said to live in the Salem area and were “known to the victims,” the sheriff’s office said. Both men face two charges of aggravated murder and one charge for attempted murder, according to Marion County Circuit Court records.
Court records show no known criminal offenses for Caldwell in Oregon. Welch, whose residence is listed to be in Virginia, has a prior misdemeanor citation.
Booking photos for either men were not available.
The Oregon State Medical Examiner’s Office on Tuesday ruled the deaths of Bradley Kelley and Michael Buntjer, both 35 years old and residing in Salem, as homicides, the sheriff’s office said.
Kelley was found dead at the scene, in the 3600 block of Joshua Avenue Northeast. Buntjer, meanwhile, died from his injuries while at the hospital, the release said.
A third person, 26-year-old Coral Olfert, of Salem, was treated for injuries, according to the release.
The Sheriff’s Office asked if anyone has any further information, to call the non-emergency dispatch line at 503-588-5032.
