UGM suspect sent from Oregon State Hospital to jail after judge finds him fit to proceed in court

The Bend man charged in last summer’s mass stabbing at the Union Gospel Mission was released from the Oregon State Hospital and into jail custody this week after almost a year receiving mental care.
On Wednesday, June 24, Tony L. Williams, 43, was found mentally fit to again participate in the criminal case where is accused of stabbing 11 people at a downtown Salem homeless shelter, Marion County Circuit Court records show.
