Salem sees at least 16 immigrants arrested on Veterans Day, groups say

Federal immigration authorities arrested at least 16 people in north and east Salem early Tuesday morning, according to immigrant rights groups monitoring their activities.

It’s the largest single-day immigration arrest total the city has seen in years, the groups said, and comes amid an expansion of visible immigration arrests across western Oregon.
