Former Salem pizzeria owner ordered to pay $96k in felony tax evasion case

A former Salem restaurant owner, Michael Pfohl, is on the hook to pay $96,000 in back taxes and penalties after pleading guilty to felony tax evasion charges in Marion County Circuit Court.

The penalties stem from Pfohl, 62, failing to file business taxes for Donatello’s Pizza over three years, from 2021 to 2023.

The restaurant operated out of a south Salem storefront on 3981 Commercial St. S.E. for a decade beginning in 2012.
