Willamette University library reopens after bomb threat cleared

Willamette University’s library reopened Tuesday morning after Salem police cleared a bomb threat.
A notice alerting students and university staff to the threat went out at 9:29 a.m. Tuesday and told people to avoid Hatfield Library, which is in the central part of the university’s campus.
Willamette staff received a bomb threat to the university in an email at 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, according to Jon Hardy, spokesperson for the Salem Police Department.
