Community college president visits Chemeketa on 1,500-mile run raising awareness for student basic needs
Tim Cook ran over 1,000 miles to get to Chemeketa Community College Tuesday morning, escorted to campus by four police cars, and greeted by a cheering crowd of over 50 college staff.
The stop was the tenth of 17 Oregon community colleges that Cook, president of Clackamas Community College, is visiting this summer to raise awareness and money for students’ basic needs. Cook said Chemeketa brought the largest crowd he’d seen so far.
