Man injured in Northgate shooting early Friday

Marion County detectives are seeking witnesses with information about a shooting early Friday morning in Salem’s Northgate neighborhood that left a man injured.
Deputies responded around 2:30 a.m. to a 911 call and found a 32-year-old man on Northeast Stortz Avenue who had been shot, the agency said in a Facebook post. The area is west of Northgate Park.
The man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.
No suspect has been arrested, according to sheriff’s office spokesman Sgt. Jeremy Schwab.
Schwab said detectives are still trying to determine the exact location where the shooting occurred, and they’re unaware whether those involved knew each other.
Marion County detectives are seeking additional witnesses and urged anyone with information about the shooting to call county dispatchers at 503-588-5032.
“At this time, there is no known threat to the community,” according to the statement from the sheriff’s office.
