The Oregon State Fair opening weekend featured rough stock rodeo in what was billed as the “Summer Showdown Tour” for Hell on Hooves.
At the Saturday show, cowboys and cowgirls competed for series-ending championships.
They didn’t disappoint.
Cooper DeWitt of Prineville won the saddle bronc championship. The bareback riding title went to Dylan Riggins of Kadoka, South Dakota.
The bulls were a bit too much for the cowboys. No one got in a qualifying ride.
Amanda Bain of Powell Butte won the barrel racing championship and Fallon Cornforth of Yamhill won the special invitational barrel racing competition.
