Weekend race helps bolster funding for local soccer club

Runners competing in Capital Futbol Club’s half marathon, 10k or 5k Sunday were cheered on by soccer players.

The money raised at the races benefitted Salem’s nonprofit youth soccer club, which has 2,500 members.

Capital FC has plans for expanding its current facility by adding two additional turf fields and a community center.
