Meeting introduces local public officials to Salem Reporter

Area public officials on Thursday were encouraged to share both information and concerns about press coverage as they learned about Salem Reporter.

Editor Les Zaitz outlined the mission of the new online news service in a session with about 30 officials. He discussed the need for accurate and fair news coverage, and introduced reporters Rachel Alexander, Aubrey Wieber and Troy Brynelson.

A similar meeting is scheduled at the Grand Hotel for 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, for leaders of Salem-area nonprofit organizations. Those interested in attending can email [email protected] or call 503-537-3207.
