An Oregon State Police lieutenant tried to pull over a driver on Interstate 5 Friday morning who then rammed the patrol car from behind and fled before being arrested, the agency announced. The lieutenant suffered minor injuries.

Police say Alberto Avila-Perez lost control of his car, crashing into a boulder, a trailer and an SUV Sunday on Highway 22. Avila-Perez was killed.

Felipe Amezcua Manzo pointed a laser-equipped gun at two drivers in freeway traffic and started a shootout with an Oregon State Police Trooper, according to a statement from the Marion County District Attorney’s Office.
Police say Felipe Manzo, 31, held a man at gunpoint on the freeway just before dying in a gun battle with a state trooper.
