Update, 3:10 p.m.: Law enforcement officers began a search for a missing Salem woman and her son Thursday morning at a property in Gaston. That search led investigators to a field in Hopewell, about 45 minutes away.
Karissa Fretwell, 25, and her 3-year-old son William have not been located, and searches in both locations are ongoing. Volunteers and law enforcement are searching a quarter-mile area in Hopewell.

Law enforcement from around the region are still searching for a missing Salem woman and her son more than a week after they were last seen.
The Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that the search for Karissa Fretwell, 25, and her 3-year-old son William, sent investigators to a property in rural Yamhill County.
“Law enforcement officers are searching this property in hopes of locating Karissa and William, or discovering evidence which may lead to their location,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation, Oregon State Police and the Salem Police Department are also assisting in the search, according to the release.
The Yamhill Sheriff’s Office said the search is being conducted by law enforcement and trained volunteers and “no additional searchers are needed.”
Fretwell and her son were last seen May 13, according to Salem police. She is described as a white female with blue eyes and dyed red hair, 5-foot, 9-inches tall and weighing approximately 135 pounds.
Fretwell has sole custody of her son and the two reside in West Salem, according to the Thursday news release.
