AGENDA: Marion County commissioners consider removing funds for “active monitoring” of Covid patients

The Marion County Board of Commissioners meets Wednesday to consider removing state public health funds previously intended for actively monitoring Covid patients.

AGENDA

Commissioners will consider a proclamation declaring May 1-7 as National Corrections Professionals Week and May 6-12 as Nurses Appreciation Week in Marion County.

The board will consider a proclamation declaring May 15-21 as Police Recognition Week in Marion County.

Commissioners will consider approving around $7.85 million in grant funds from the Oregon Department of Revenue. The county submits the grant application each year to help operate the county’s assessment and taxation program.

They will also consider removing over $184,000 in funds – intended for “active monitoring” of Covid exposures – from a contract with the Oregon Health Authority for financing public health services. The new contract would total around $14.1 million. The county didn’t clarify before publication where the money would be transferred.

Meeting details: The commissioners meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Senator Hearing Room at 555 Court Street N.E. The meeting is streamed live on YouTube
