Salem police are looking for a man who they say robbed a local donut shop with a gun twice last month.

The robberies were reported in the same week at the Dude Donut City on Southeast Carson Drive and Southeast Lancaster Drive.

On Dec. 13, the man “displayed a gun” to the shop clerk and demanded money from the register. The clerk complied and the man left on foot, according to a Monday morning news release.

Police say the same man returned Dec. 18, showed a gun to the employee and demanded money, again fleeing on foot once he took it.

Patrol officers searched and perimeter tracks were conducted by a K-9 team after each incident but were unsuccessful,” the news release said.

Employees said the man is around 30-35 years old, 5’10” to 5’11” and 160 to 180 pounds.

He was reported on Dec. 13 to be wearing a black jacket with large front pockets and dark pants both in dirty condition and dark shoes. On Dec. 18, he was reported as wearing a blue sweatshirt over a dark hooded jacket, dark tan pants, red mittens and dark shoes.

Detectives are asking anyone who knows the man captured in a photograph and video or has information about the cases to call the Salem Police Tips Line at 503-588-8477.
