State Capitol Foundation sponsoring exhibits by local museums, organizations

The Oregon State Capitol Foundation is offering sponsorships to cultural and heritage museums to have exhibits at the Capitol.

The Capitol History Gateway Exhibit Sponsorship Program sponsors public and nonprofit museums and organizations that get Oregonians involved in the state’s democracy and draw interest in its history, the program’s website said.

The Oregon State Capitol Foundation, which helps fund the program, this year is encouraging applications from cultural and heritage museums “wanting to tell their stories with an exhibit at the Capitol,” according to a press release from the Capitol’s Visitor Services Department, which produces events and exhibits for the program.

The foundation will provide up to $5,000 in funding per museum or organization and is sponsoring up to five entities, the press release said.

The deadline to apply for funding is Jan. 31, 2022 at 11:59 pm. More information about the funding and how to apply is available on the program’s website.
