Salem police identify people killed in Saturday bar shooting

The Salem Police Department on Tuesday identified the two people killed Saturday at a northeast Salem bar.

Jose Pablo Arrevalo, 27, and Erlin Adonay Rivas-Lopez, 29, both of Salem, were killed on July 10 during a shooting at Woody’s Cantina at 1486 Hawthorne Ave. N.E., south of Market Street and next to Interstate 5, police said.

Lt. Treven Upkes said police haven’t identified a suspect or made any arrests related to the killings.

“When officers arrived, people were fleeing the location,” said a Salem police statement Saturday. “Officers went directly into the location, made sure there was no longer a threat and located two victims.”

That statement said police found one person dead and that a second person died after being taken to Salem Health.
