Police looking for driver in fatal hit and run near Aurora

Update 10:18 a.m. Police identified the cyclist as Eric Wieber, 37, of Wilsonville.

Oregon State Police are looking for a driver who hit and killed and cyclist Sunday around 1:45 a.m. near Aurora.

A preliminary investigation showed a cyclist was traveling northbound on the shoulder of Highway 551 near milepost 2 when they were hit from behind by a car, police said in a news release.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police haven’t released their name.

The driver didn’t stay at the scene and police said evidence suggests the car is a 2008 to 2014 white Subaru Tribeca, with damage to the front passenger side including the headlight and side mirror.
