PHOTOS: Halloween weekend celebrations in Salem

The temperature hovered around 42 degrees at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 29, but that didn’t deter the steady stream of trick-o-treaters from showing up to the Gilbert House Children’s Museum Halloween Re-Engineered event. Held in front of the A.C. Gilbert House underneath the Marion Street Bridge, there were several stations set up where attendees could make a paper ghost, create slime, fill a creepy hand with candy, create drawings, and compete in a costume contest.

The 4th annual Drive-Thru Trick-or-Treat was also in full swing at the Willamette Heritage Center, with various community partner’s booths set up to hand out treats to eager attendees. This event was very popular and cars were lined up from Southeast 12th Street all the way to State Street with people waiting to enter the event.
