Reward offered for helping solve April 2021 homicide in Marion County

Detectives are asking for the public’s help in solving a Hillsboro man’s April 2021 homicide in rural Marion County.

Emergency services were called April 21, 2021 at 10:41 p.m. to a car fire on Sunnyview Road Northeast near Hibbard Road Northeast in rural Marion County, according to a news release Tuesday from Crime Stoppers of Oregon.

When they put the fire out, they found found Juan Manuel Perez, 39, dead inside of the vehicle. Detectives with the sheriff’s office were called to the scene to investigate his death.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy and ruled Perez’s death a homicide.

Marion County detectives are seeking anyone with information about Perez’s death, the news release said.
