A couple of contracts involving the Marion County Sheriff’s Office will headline the Marion County Board of Commissioners’ regular meeting Wednesday.

First up is whether to accept a contract that would pay the law enforcement agency $250,000 over a multi-year contract to patrol state parks within the county. That includes foot patrol and vehicles at Silver Falls State Park, Detroit Lake State Recreation Area, Mongold day-use area and North Santiam State Recreation Area.

The contract with the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department would last through 2025, according to meeting documents.

Second, commissioners will consider paying $300,000 to Salem company Greystone Tactical to provide uniforms and gear to the agency. That contract would last multiple years, too. The sheriff’s office, according to meeting documents, employs 356 staff — and not all are in law enforcement. The agency also staffs jobs like nurses, administrators and records-keepers.

Meeting details: 9 a.m., Wednesday, January 15 at Senator Hearing Room, 555 Court Street N.E.

Commissioners: Colm Willis, Kevin Cameron and Sam Brentano.
