School counselor dies suddenly, Salem celebrates Qingming
Good evening, Salem.
Celebrated primate scientist and conservation advocate Jane Goodall will visit Salem this week in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the Jane Goodall Environmental Middle School.
Her public lecture Thursday, April 10, at the Elsinore Theatre is sold out, but organizers have set up a livestream which allows people to watch the presentation live or for up to two weeks after. Access is $10.

Classes started late Monday at South and McNary high schools to prepare school employees to support students after the unexpected death of counselor Leah Anderson.
Salem police said Monday morning that Northeast Swegle Road was closed between 45th Avenue and Princess Lane while officers responded to a report of a man in “emotional distress.”
