Two Marion County firefighters injured while driving to aid on wildfire
A brush truck carrying two Marion County Fire District 1 firefighters rolled early Wednesday morning near Baker City, causing non-life-threatening injuries. The firefighters were traveling to help fight the Town Gulch Fire.

About half of the firefighters serving the area northeast of Salem are volunteers, and a dozen live full-time at the fire stations they serve at. The Marion County Fire District #1 is seeking new volunteer recruits to fight fires and respond to medical emergencies.
