Where to watch fireworks around Salem

Enjoy food, drinks, live music and an intimate firework display at the Oregon Garden Wednesday night.

The show allows guests to get up close to the fireworks launch site. Before the show, there will be face painting, a balloon artist and a bounce house.

Live music starts at 6 p.m. and the fireworks begin at 10 p.m. on July 3.

Admission is free after 5 p.m. 879 W Main St. in Silverton. More info can be found on the Oregon Garden website.

Riverfront Park is expected to draw thousands of people to watch fireworks shoot off from the dock on the Fourth of July.

Salem recreation supervisor Becky George said, “You can sit in Riverfront Park and it’s right over your head. You can lay back on your blanket and just watch.”

The show starts at 10 p.m. and is expected to last 20 to 25 minutes.

CherryFest NW will also be taking place in the park, with food, drinks and live music. Admission to the festival is free on Thursday.

Celebrate Independence Day with some old-fashioned fun. Independence celebrates the holiday with two separate fireworks shows – one on July 4 and another on July 6. The display will shine over the Willamette River and Riverview Park both days.

A grand parade starts in Monmouth at noon on Thursday and reaches Independence around 1 p.m.

On Saturday, people can participate in a watermelon eating contest at 2 p.m. and a rubber ducky derby at 4 p.m.

Admission to Independence Days costs $2 per person on July 4 and $1 on July 6.

Come on out to the ball game and enjoy a fireworks show. The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes are playing the Vancouver Canadians and after the game a patriotic tribute will explode overhead. The game starts at 6:35 p.m. and tickets cost between $8 to $22.

People attending the Detroit Lake fireworks show on Saturday can fill the day with water activities like boating, swimming or sunbathing before the show starts around 10 p.m.
