Yamhill County man sought in connection with Salem woman’s disappearance

Police are seeking a Gaston man, Michael J. Wolfe, 52, for questioning in connection with last week’s disappearance of a Salem woman and her toddler son.

He is being sought by the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office and the Salem Police Department in connection with Karissa Fretwell, 25, and her son, William.

The mother and son were reported missing from their Salem home on May 13.

The police provided no details in their announcement about why Wolfe was being sought. They asked anyone with information about Wolfe call the Salem police tipline at 503-588-8477.

The announcement came after police initiated a search at a Gaston home Thursday morning and then started a second search in a rural area outside of Hopewell, a farming community about 30 miles northwest of Salem.
