AGENDA: Salem-Keizer budget committee to take input on proposed 2019-20 budget

The Salem-Keizer school board and budget committee will review Superintendent Christy Perry’s proposed budget for 2019-20 and hear public input at a Tuesday meeting.

The $1.19 billion budget maintains current district services while shifting some staff around to accommodate a projected enrollment increase in middle school and decrease in elementary school.

District staff will answer questions committee members raised at a meeting last week before opening the meeting for public comment. Comments can also be submitted in writing to school board secretary Alice Struckmeier, [email protected].

Meeting details: 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 7 at the district’s Support Services Center, 2575 Commercial Street S.E.

Board members: Kathy Goss, Sheronne Blasi, Marty Heyen, Jesse Lippold, Paul Kyllo, Jim Green and Chuck Lee.

Community budget committee members: Levi Herrera-Lopez, Kathleen Harder, Adam Kohler, Adriana Miranda, Virginia Stapleton, Rachel Dewey-Thorsett, Cynthia Stinson
