Salem’s splash pad reopens Tuesday ahead of hot forecasts

Salem’s splash pads are set to open Tuesday ahead of a weekend that’s expected to reach temperatures in the low 90s.

Splash fountains will be open in seven city parks daily through Labor Day, Sept. 5.

The National Weather Service is forecasting temperatures in Salem to reach about 83 degrees Tuesday, 78 degrees Wednesday, 75 degrees Thursday and 84 degrees Friday. A high of 91 is expected Saturday, with 90 on Sunday and 83 on Monday, according to the agency.

Splash pad locations and hours are listed below, according to the city of Salem:

Englewood Park, 1260 19th St. N.E., 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Fairmount Park, 650 Rural St. S.,12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Northgate Park, 3575 Fairhaven Ave. N.E, 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Riverfront Park, 200 Water St. N.E. 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

River Road Park, 3045 River Rd. N.,10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Wes Bennett Park, 2200 Baxter Rd. S.E., 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.

West Salem Park, 265, Rosemont Ave. N.W., 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
