You can help Salem’s newest batch of kittens get ready for adoption with a Thursday event at Santiam Brewing.

Willamette Humane Society’s popular Kittens and Beer event is back at the brewery, located at 2544 19th St. S.E., from 6-8 p.m.

Guests can sign up for a 10-minute shift to cuddle a newborn kitten, with a suggested donation of $5 toward the humane society, according to a Facebook event. The event is intended to help kittens who are still too young to be adopted get used to human presence.

The time you spend with them will help to socialize them and help them prepare for loving homes in the future,” the event page said.

RSVPs are not required, but guests are encouraged to sign up for a cuddling shift early because spots are limited.

Santiam will donate $1 from every beer sold during the event toward the humane society. The next Kittens and Beer event is scheduled for June 23.
