AGENDA: Marion County commissioners consider additional funds for sexual assault, domestic violence victim services

The Marion County Board of Commissioners meets Wednesday to consider adding funds to a contract with Center for Hope and Safety for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking and human trafficking.

AGENDA

Commissioners will consider a proclamation declaring April 11-15 as National Zone Awareness Week in Marion County and recognizing April 13 as Go Orange Day. Both are intended to recognize county employees working in and around traffic in work zones.

The board will consider appointing four new members to fill vacancies on the Detroit Idanha Rural Fire Protection District after the previous members resigned.

Commissioners will consider approving a $132,400 contract with Galaxux, Inc. to make improvements to Marion County’s Community Resource Network, a free online collaborative tool that helps local service providers more efficiently and effectively get their clients connected with needed services, according to the agenda item. The contractor would move the network to a cloud-based platform, transfer all data and continue to maintain and provide updates to the program.

They will also consider purchasing $300,000 worth of safety clothing, parts and operational supplies from Fastenal Company for the county’s Public Works Department.

The board will also consider adding around $69,500 to a contract with Center for Hope and Safety to provide services for victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, stalking and human trafficking in Marion County. The new contract would total around $255,000.

Meeting details: The commissioners meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday in the Senator Hearing Room at 555 Court Street N.E. The meeting is streamed live on YouTube
