Salem Health taking community investment grant applications starting Monday

Salem Health is now taking applications for grants intended to address community needs in Marion and Polk counties in the fiscal year 2022-23.

The awards provide one year of funding up to $30,000 per grant, according to a news release.

The deadline to apply is May 6. Application forms and criteria can be found on Salem Health’s website.

Salem Health’s is focusing on projects related to behavioral health, substance abuse prevention and social determinants of health, according to the news release.

“We are pleased to invest in community partners fostering health in those we serve,” said Leilani Slama, Chief Communications and Community Relations Officer, in the statement. “Together, we are creating a healthier community.”

Salem Health’s community grants last year included support for dental and primary care at the Boys & Girls Club for Marion and Polk Counties, Church at the Park’s efforts to get housing for homeless people, Family Building Blocks for mental health services and the youth farm at Marion Polk Food Share to support its program delivering local produce to low-income people.
