Weigh in on skate park design for Geer Park

Two proposed design options for the Geer Park Skate Park (City of Salem)

Skaters have a few more days to weigh in on two city proposals for a skate park at Geer Park.

Architects have proposed two designs, each about 20,000 square feet, as part of a redesign of the park at 241 Geer Drive N.E.

The first design, Option A, features more street features, while Option B features more transitional and flow features. The first option also includes a green space in the center of the park.

The city’s design process is being led by Evergreen Skateparks. City officials are seeking feedback on the design proposals and desired features. Take a survey in English here or in Spanish here. The survey closes at midnight on March 30.

Construction on Geer Park improvements, including the skate park, is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2024. More information about the project is available on the city website.
