Chemeketa Community College board members will consider a contract for incoming President Jessica Howard at a meeting Wednesday, the final step in hiring her to take over college operations in July.
Board members selected Howard from among four finalists to succeed retiring President Julie Huckestein at the end of the school year. She’s currently a campus president for Portland Community College’s southeast campus.
Details of the contract, including Howard’s salary, have not been publicly released. They will be finalized in executive session, which is closed to the public, before the board votes during their regular meeting Wednesday.
Board members will also consider minor updates to college policies on sexual harassment, information security, use of college communication resources, as well as updating definitions for faculty positions.
They will consider adding a new computer-aided manufacturing fundamentals certificate to the college and approving an updated agreement with Property and Casualty for Education, which provides insurance for the college.
They will hear proposed items to be voted on in April, including changes to college policies on employee evaluation, job descriptions for temporary, hourly staff and signatures on payments, sabbatical leave requests for 2019-20, adding an emergency medical technician certificate and minor changes to the college’s procurement rules.
They will hear reports on the college’s budget, enrollment, staff, administration and student association.
