Here’s Salem Reporter’s Covid report for Monday, Feb. 14.

Monday case and death totals also include numbers reported Saturday and Sunday and are typically higher than other weekdays.

Total Salem Hospital patients with Covid: 101 as of Monday morning, unchanged from Sunday.

Of those, 16 are in the intensive care unit, and eight are on ventilators.

Sixty-two of those are not vaccinated against Covid, and 39 are vaccinated.

Salem Health does not consistently report the number of patients who have received a booster vaccine dose because of the difficulty tracking whether patients are eligible for a booster in real time, spokeswoman Lisa Wood said. The vaccinated patient count includes any patient who has received at least two doses of a Moderna or Pfizer vaccine, or the one-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Total Salem Hospital bed occupancy: 488 patients; the hospital is licensed for 494 beds.

Total people hospitalized with Covid in Region 2 (Marion, Polk, Yamhill, Linn, Benton, Lincoln counties): 167. Of those, 28 are in the intensive care unit and 12 are on ventilators.

Total Region 2 hospital bed occupancy: 94 of 100 staffed ICU beds and 668 of 678 non-ICU beds in use.

New Covid cases reported in Marion County: 395

New Covid cases reported in Polk County: 102

New Covid deaths reported: 18 in Oregon

Three Marion County deaths were reported Monday. They are:

An 89-year-old man who tested positive on Jan. 31 and died on Feb. 8 at Salem Hospital.

A 75-year-old woman who tested positive on Jan. 25 and died on Feb. 8 at Salem Hospital.

An 84-year-old man who tested positive on Jan. 19 and died on Feb. 10  at Salem Hospital.
