With snow and colder temperatures expected to hit Salem this weekend, homeless service agency The ARCHES Project is seeking volunteers to open two warming centers so people can get out of the elements.

Volunteers can sign up for shifts from Dec. 23 through Jan. 5 now on the ARCHES website. Warming center volunteers must be at least 18.

Sign-ups are open for warming at Seed of Faith Ministries, 853 Medical Center Drive N.E. Starting Sunday evening, ARCHES expects to open a second warming site at Salem First Presbyterian Church, 770 Chemeketa St. N.E., according to its volunteer website.

Volunteers can sign up for one of three shifts each night. First shift runs from 6:30-11 p.m., second shift from 10:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., and third shift from 3-7 a.m.
