The city of Salem is holding an open house on Dec. 14 to present an updated design on additional bike lanes on Union Street.

Called the Union Street Family Friendly Bikeway Project, it seeks to make it easier to walk or ride your bike on Union Street between Northeast Commercial Street and Northeast Summer Street.

The Tuesday meeting starts at 7 p.m. on Zoom.

The project will provide separated bike lanes, road striping, improved crosswalks and parking. Once completed, it will connect with the 134-mile Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway.
