The Marion County Commission on Wednesday will consider giving the Mid-Willamette Valley Community Action Agency another $40,000 for its contract, which is set to expire this summer.
The Salem-based agency operates the De Muniz Resource Center at the Marion County Transition Center, which helps prepare people released or about to be released from jail or prison for everyday life. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office contracted that service for $351,000 from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2019.
A contract amendment before the Board of Commissioners Wednesday would add another $40,000 to that for the remainder of the contract. The new money would help pay for a third staffer, said executive director Jimmy Jones.
The commission will also consider rezoning 3552 Ward Drive N.E., a 4.5-acre property, from urban development to multifamily residential.
