Gov. Brown announces two Marion County Circuit Court vacancies, judges set to retire

Gov. Kate Brown on Oct. 8 announced two Marion County Circuit Court judges will retire at the end of the month and she is accepting applications for both judicial vacancies.

Circuit judges Susan M. Tripp’s and Judge Cheryl A. Pellegrini’s retirements will take effect Oct. 31, the governor’s office wrote in a news release.

Tripp has served as a Marion County Circuit Court judge since 2003, and Pellegrini has served since 2014.

Brown will fill the positions by appointment. “She encourages applications from lawyers with a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences,” the news release said.

Under state law, candidates must be U.S. citizens, Oregon residents and members of the Oregon State Bar.

The vacancies must be filled by people who are residents of or have primary offices in the county where they are appointed or in adjacent counties.
