Fire officials are investigating a fire as “suspicious in nature” after a home and several vehicles burned in near Northeast 66th Avenue Thursday morning.

The investigation stems from Marion County Fire District No. 1 responding to a report of a grass fire around 10 a.m. Thursday.

Firefighters arrived to find a single-story home engulfed in flames. It took firefighters nearly two hours to bring the fire under control because of complications in accessing water in the rural area, the fire district said.

Marion County was assisted by Silverton Fire, Aumsville Fire, and a private water tender from Four Seasons Farm.
