More than 100 musical groups will perform around Salem next week for the annual Make Music Day event.

Now in its sixth year, the free event runs from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday, June 21 with live performances after going virtual last year.

Salem is the only city in Oregon to participate in the global event.

Musicians will be performing in downtown, north Salem, south Salem, the Willamette Heritage Center and in parks and neighborhoods.

There will also be events for anyone to participate like bucket drumming and a harmonica giveaway. A silent disco will close out the event.
