Voters in Marion and Polk counties have one week to get ballots in for the May 18 election which will decide a majority of seats on the Salem-Keizer School Board and whether the Marion County Fire District 1 can hire additional help.

Ballots must be received by 8 p.m. Election Day to count, so election officials recommend using a free ballot drop box rather than dropping ballots in the mail.

A list of ballot drop boxes is available on page 5 of the Marion County voter’s pamphlet and on the Polk County elections website. Ballot envelopes must be signed to be counted.
