In a recent survey of readers about the approaching elections, many of you told Salem Reporter you want independent fact-checking of statements made by local candidates for office. We want to do that in part by assessing campaign materials being used to promote candidates. We need your help.
If you have received a mailer – a post card, a letter, a brochure, or such material – about a local race (whether from that candidate or a political action committee), take a picture or scan it and send it over to [email protected].
If you see a candidate ad or post on social media, send it our way as a screenshot and/or link.
We’ll be checking the truth of statements by candidates in these races:
-Marion County Commission (Danielle Bethell and Ashley Carson Cottingham)
-Polk County Commission (Lyle R. Mordhorst and Danny Jaffer)
-Senate District 10 (Denyc Boles and Deb Patterson)
-House District 19 (Raquel Moore-Green and Jackie Leung)
-House District 20 (Paul Evans and Selma Pierce)
