PHOTOS: People pursue a sense of normalcy in Salem as officers get donated lunch

Salem police officers were greeted with a free meal when they drove up to Sparky’s Brewing Company Tuesday afternoon. 

Throughout the day, officers would pull up to the south Salem brewery and get handed a sack lunch filled with a bacon avocado wrap and chips.

Deputy Police Chief Steve Bellshaw said there have been a number of business that have wanted to donate food to officers now that restaurants are closed. The Salem Police Foundation is facilitating the donations.

Claudia Vorse with the Salem Police Foundation said Adam’s Rib Smoke House and Rudy’s Steakhouse have also offered to donate meals to police officers.
