Wednesday

Get bendy with a twist. Head to Gilgamesh Brewing Wednesday evening for a holiday edition of Yoga and Beer. Wear an ugly holiday sweater for the class which starts at 6 p.m. Anyone wearing a sweater for class will receive $5 off any Yoga + Beer merch purchases made the night of class. Sparky’s Brewing Company is hosting a bath bomb workshop on Wednesday. Lather + Foam will provide attendees with the ingredients and each person will get to make three batches of bath bombs, 15 to 18 bath bombs apiece. Prepare for the release of the latest Star Wars movie by brushing up on your trivia. Vagabond Brewing is hosting a night full of Star Wars themed trivia questions Thursday. Trivia starts at 7 p.m. with the chance to win prizes. More info is on Facebook.

Celebrate the holidays at the Willamette Heritage Center. Watch history come to life with children’s activities, heritage tours and demonstrations during Magic at the Mill. Guests are invited to explore the historic buildings decorated with holiday lights, a holiday market and family-friendly fun. Tickets cost $8 for adults, $5 for kids and are free to Willamette Heritage Center members. The event runs from Dec. 19 to 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. each night. Set in the fictional town of Hohman, Indiana, A Christmas Story, The Musical follows 9-year-old Ralphie Parker and his quest for the Holy Grail of Christmas gifts. All the iconic scenes from the movie are in the musical, joined by a versatile score. The show opens on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. Tickets cost between $29 and $59. On Dec. 22 the 2 p.m. matinee will be followed by selfies with Santa or the Elves on stage. More info is on the Elsinore Theater website.

Gilbert House Children’s Museum is turning 30 this month and is celebrating on Saturday with free museum admission. The party will have birthday-themed activities, photo ops and yummy treats while supplies last. The party runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or until it’s time for a nap. 116 Marion St. N.E. Join or watch Salem’s kayak, canoe and dragon boat parade this Saturday during the annual Winter Solstice Illuminata Regatta. Light up your boat and paddle the Riverfront Park slough in a parade. Paddlers need a decorated boat, life jacket, whistle and invasive species permit if the boat is 10 feet or longer. Permits are at the State Marine Board on 435 Commercial St. The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. More info is on Facebook.

Stroll by downtown businesses Saturday during a jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell walk. Wear a festive holiday outfit to sing carols and ring bells. The parade starts at 4 p.m. and meets at the Salem Center Mall entrance at the corner of Liberty and Chemeketa Streets. More info is on Facebook.

After dark, the 21 and older crowd can dress up in their best Santa duds for a festive pub crawl, complete with carol singing, live music and a costume contest. The crawl starts at Venti’s Café and Basement Bar on 325 Court St. N.E. at 7 p.m. and ends at Taproot Lounge and Café on 356 State St. at 10 p.m. More info is on Facebook
